Very many congratulations to Ian Pilgrim who won the Sport Bromley Volunteer of the Year 2011 award. Ian was nominated by Ken Slater (Bromley District Cricket Development Manager) for amongst many other areas, all his voluntary work for club and district cricket and assisting Kent clubs in gaining Clubmark.
Ian was presented with his award on 14th September by the Mayor of Bromley at Bromley Civic Centre.

Highlights weekend 3rd September - Very well done to Grahame Nelson who returned from the 3rd XI game with figures of 12-2-40-6. The 4th XI game saw another good haul of wickets for Glen Wheeler, 10-0-37-5.

Highlights weekend 13th August - A splendid 128 runs was obtained by Siva Sivaranjan in the 2nd XI game against Addington to obtain his first century for Old Wilsoniains since joining the club this season.

Highlights weekend 6th August - This weekend's highlights were to be found in the 4th game against Dartfordians where both Glen Wheeler and Grahame Nelson got 5 wickets each with figures of 8.1-2-22-5 and 9-1-43-5. Sadly the splendid bowling was not enough to win the match with OW's losing by 24 runs.

Highlights weekend 17th July - Very well done to Henry Day who achieved his first five wicket haul in the U16 match against Shooters Hill. Henry's figures were 3-1-10-5. Matthew Davis was retired not out with 52 runs in the U15A match against Dartfordians.

July 2011 - The new 4 bay outdoor cricket nets are now fully operational. This has been a massive investment for the Club and its long term benefits will become evident in the years to come as more and more of our home grown talent comes through and our sides become known throughout Kent for the successful and fair way in which they play the game of cricket.
Please remember, this facility has been 4 years in the making. Please respect the time and effort of those volunteers, especially Doug Forbes and Mick Pilgrim, who gave up so much to let you practice in them, by abiding with these NET REGULATIONS. Any failure to comply with any of the regulations will result in Club disciplinary procedures.

Highlights weekend 2nd July - Congratulations to two young centurions this week. Firstly Joseph Gold who scored 106 runs for the 5th XI in their league match against Bexley on Saturday and then to Kenny Maxwell who scored 119 not out in the Sunday Friendly match against Kent Football Cricket Club.

Highlights weekend 4th June - Another centurian this weekend and well done to Chris Kennedy who scored 119 not out for the 2nd XI against Rainham. Congratulations also to Andy Hazzard who got 6 wickets and splendid bowling figures of 8-7-5-6 to obtain a fantastic win for the 5th, XI bowling the opponents, Streatham and Marlborough, out for 35 runs.
Two of our U15 boys also did very well in their match against Dartford. Well done to Matt Davis who scored 53 not out and to George Brindley who took 5 wickets for just 15 runs. Sadly this wasn't enough for victory with Dartford beating OWs by just 5 runs.

The weekend of 28th May was a great weekend for two of our 1st XI players. Saturday's 1st XI League match saw Rakesh Joshi score 150 runs making him the 8th highest batsman for the club. The same game brought 6 wickets wickets for Pasan Weeraratne. Pasan's good fortune continued on Sunday where he scored 120 runs before retiring himself in the Sunday League game against OD Cuaco. Very well done to both players.

The preparatory work on the new net area is almost completed and it is hoped that the assembly of the nets will commence on Monday 23rd May. It is anticpated that the nets will take 3 weeks to build.

On Thursday 23rd September 2010, Bromley Council's Planning Committee finally granted Old Wilsonians' planning permission to erect new nets on the piece of land that we bought from Ex-Blues. We have also been given the go ahead to construct the children's playground that John Martin aquired a year ago.

Many congratulations to OWs' Level 3 coach Nick Bier who has led Kent U15 girls to become National Champions. Kent U13 and U17 girls also achieved this status which is probably very unique in English cricket history.

Very many congratulations to our U12s who were the winners of the U12 Harry Bright cup on Sunday 5th September 2010. In a closely fought match against Blackheath, Old Wilsonians just had the edge and were presented the trophy.

Two centuries for Old Wilsonians' players in the same innings!
Very well done to Tom Morley and Joe Winspear who got 103 and 105 runs respectively batting at numbers 3 and 4 in the 3rd XI league game against Blackheath Select in the final league match of the season.

Very well done to two of our 1st XI who scored centuries during the weekend of 21st August.
Pasan Weeraratne gained his 3rd century of the season in the 1st XI match against Walmer on Saturday. Pasan scored 102 runs before retiring.
Sunday saw Jonathan Rodda score his maiden century in cricket getting 116 runs in the Sunday league match.

OW's 1st XI clinch promotion.
Despite the fact that no play was possible in this game (14th August), the 8 points they gained from this fixture was enough to see League Leaders Old Wilsonians promoted to Division Three as Rainham's game at Rodmersham was also a victim of the wet weather.
The OW's now need 38 points from their last three games to be crowned Champions of Division Four.

Saturday 29th May saw OWCC 1st XI beat Rainham by 163 runs in a rain reduced match.
The 1sts put on a great all round performance with Pasan hitting a tremendous 115 n.o. for his first century of the season and Sumi blowing away the opponents with superb bowling and taking 8 wickets for 21 runs!

Last Sunday (16th May) saw 25 club members enter our annual 6-a-side day.
All those that entered were put in a draw for 6 tickets for the Kent Spitfires game on 31st May. Jack Day was the lucky winner.
Many thanks to Paul Maxwell for team administration and umpiring, Steve Millward for umpiring, Graham Watts for scoring and Jasper for running the bar all afternoon.
A fun afternoon was had by all, finished off by watching and celebrating England winning the World Twenty20 2010.

Well done to Pasan Weeraratne who scored two centuries on the weekend of 4th July. Saturday saw Pasan score 152, hitting 11 sixes and 13 fours for the 1st team win over Tunbridge Wells. Sunday brought another century for the Sunday League Team.

It was Michael's first hundred for the Club, beating his previous highest score of 98 which, coincidentally, had come against Crofton 12 months ago.

Saturday 30th May was a good day for the club seeing 3 of our players make 100. Pasan Weeraratne made 133 n.o for the 1st XI, Tom Morley made 113 n.o for the 3rds and Velsen Devarajulu made 106 n.o for the 5th XI.
Very many congratulations to Velsen as he becomes the first Old Wilsionians' Colt to achieve a century. His name has been submitted to the Lord Taveners and will be included on their Wall of Fame shortly.

OWCC will be running two new teams for the 2009 season.
Saturdays will see the 5th XI play in the South Thames League and we have been fortunate to secure Ex-Blues ground (just through the trees from our ground) as our home pitch. Stuart Forbes has accepted our invitation to captain the team.
Sundays will see a second team playing each week. We will continue to play our normal friendly fixtures against our long-standing "friends", however a second team will be part of the competitive South London Cricket League.

Old Wilsonians' Colts Cricket Club have recently been awarded a grant of £9,636 by the Awards for All Programme. Under this scheme £10k is the maximum awarded so we are extremely pleased to obtain such an amount, which under the terms of the programme has been spent on new equipment for the club.
Huge thanks must go to Doug Forbes who drew up and submitted the documentation and also to Steve Scott who acted as our referee.

Mike Pike was presented with an Alan Albury Award by Derek Underwood on Thursday 21st August at Kent CCC, Canterbury.
10 winners were selected from the many nominations offered.
The Alan Albury Awards are presented annually for long service to cricket in Kent (over 40 years).
